inDiscover.net is pleased to announce the launch of our new competition “inD Covers: Alexz Johnson”.

We have supplied three songs: Voodoo, Hurricane Girl and Look At Those Eyes, off her recent debut album ‘Voodoo’. Competitors will pick one, two or all three songs and cover the song via webcam or other video camera.

Once complete, they must upload their video to the site.

A panel of judges will narrow down the Top Competitors and Alexz will decide the winner of the competition, who will get a one-on-one Skype call with Alexz Johnson where she will sing the song you covered!

This competition is not only for fans, but it also gives musicians a chance to showcase their talent in front of thousands of people and music industry executives.

We announced our Alexz Idol competition earlier this month here. What I didn’t tell you was where to send it.

Upload your final video to Megaupload.com or Mediafire.com and in your email include the link to the video.

You can also enter more than one video! Since I’ll be watching all the videos and picking which ones are finalists, I don’t really mind watching a few more. It’ll up your chances of being a finalist. I’ll only be choosing 3 finalists and then you guys will vote for the best video!

The winner will win an autographed DVD of Selling Innocence. We may even give out a small and not autographed prizes to the other finalists too

Ever wanted to win something autographed by Alexz herself? Well we’ve given you three chances before and this is your last chance for 2009! We are giving away an AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF SELLING INNOCENCE! It’s a very hard contest… But creative!

To win you will have to create a music video or performance video of YOU performing an Alexz song. You don’t have to be a good singer, the presentation has to be good though. Basically, what you’re doing is making a music video to any Alexz song you want and it stars you. All you have to do is grab a camera and perhaps some friends to help and create a video.

There are some rules:

1. The video must be 100% original, except for the song of course.
2. It must be 2:45 or longer, the maximum is 5 minutes. If you do Chicago, just leave out the last minute or edit to your likings
3. You may only do Alexz songs. You can do songs she performed on Instant Star, as long as she or Brendan wrote them (24 Hours, Skin, Criminal, and Another Thin Line to just name a few).
4. Video must not exceed 100mbs. If you need help with compression, just ask me on Mr Jones.
5. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN! Go all out! You have exactly ONE month to enter your video, so make good use of the time.

We’ll start accepting submissions starting tomorrow, and will stop on December 4th at midnight PAC.

Where do you send the music video? Just upload it to either Megaupload.com or Mediafire.com (PLEASE ONLY USE THESE 2 SITES!).

Hope you all like the new site! Me and Jason moved the site from AlexzWorld.com/news to just AlexzWorld.com… Which should fix a lot of issues, but started some more. I worked all night to get the site ready for today, but there are still some things I need to do. So if you experience any issues please let me know by posting a comment here and linking me to where the problem was.

While we were gone, we’ve done a lot! We’ve added a neat Gravatar plugin to the site, so you can have an icon when posting! How can you get a Gravatar? Well go to the Gravatar site, sign up, and upload your avatar! Yours will show up immediately on here, as long as your email that you signed up with on here is the same as on their site.

Also, you can subscribe to our Feed by email now! It’s on the sidebar, just enter your email and that’s it. You wont get spammed with useless info, promise.

I think that’s all… OH! The contest! Yes, the contest. We will open it on August 31st It’s more of a giveaway, since you just have to answer one simple question I’m really excited to giveaway stuff! So I hope you all will enter.
